posted 05/16/2013 MADISON HARDING RECREATION SOCCER
Registration opens May 31st,
Madison Soccer Club in conjunction with Madison Recreation department and the Harding Township Recreation Association Soccer program will sponsor the Fall recreation soccer program in Madison and Harding. The goal of Recreation Soccer is to provide children from Kindergarten thru 8th grade an environment to develop their soccer skills in a less competitive format.
Kickz Soccer UK - www.kickzsocceruk.com, professionals will provide training one weekday each week for all teams. The Kindergarten & 1st grade teams will practice once per week plus have a combined practice/game each Saturday. Grades 2 thru 8 have one Kickz Socceer UK run practice and may have a parent coach run practice in addition to their regularly scheduled Saturday game.
The recreation program will again be looking for parent volunteers to offer their time and energy to coach teams for the Saturday games as well as run their own weeknight practice if they so desire. We encourage parent volunteers to obtain the basic F license for soccer before taking responsibility of a team. Further F license information can be obtained from the NJ Youth Soccer Association – www.njyouthsoccer.com.
Kickz Soccer UK will also be running a pre K clinic program for Madison residents. This will be an 8 week program introducing children to the fundamentals of soccer. For further information and registration please visit their web site at www.kickzsocceruk.com.
Harding will be running a separate program for Pre School, Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd grade participants. The Harding program will consist of a structured Saturday morning clinic clinic for respective age groups. Harding residents are welcome to register for the Madison program.
Registration has never been easier! Visit http://register.madisonhardingsoccer.org to register your child and make a secure payment via credit card. Parents interested in being a team head or assistant coach can also register their intentions online.
The fee is $110 per player and must be paid at registration. This fee covers professional training costs, referee fees, uniforms and misc other admin costs. Children will be drafted to teams using appointed parent coaches for grades 3-8 in order to maintain balance and fairness throughout. Grade K2 teams will be developed to encourage friendship whilst also playing with school mates, although there can be no promises for specific requests. A coaches draft will be used to create teams in grade 3-8. No requests can be accepted for grade 3-8.

We will be rescheduling the U10 boys / U11 girls / U11 boys to a later date due to the storm coming thru Madison right now. An email will go to these groups next week on when the tryout will be rescheduled. Once those groups have completed their tryout, we will announce the timing of when tryout results can be posted. Most likely not till early/mid June for the U9-U11 age groups.
REMINDER: The 2nd & last date for the Madison Soccer Club for U8-U11 travel team tryouts will be this Saturday May 11th, 2012 at MRC2 (off of Ridgedale behind the Madison HS). If you did not attend last Saturdays' tryout, you must attend this Saturday's tryout to be considered for a U8-U11 travel team. Only exception is for injured players who have notified either a current travel coach or a representative from the MSC.
Players who tried out last Saturday are not required to attend this Saturday. However, if your child does not have a conflict, we encourage them to attend both dates. If you have not registered and your son/daughter is interested in one of these travel team age groups, you can walk up on Saturday and register in person 15 minutes before their start time. The tryout fee is $20.
Players should be willing to play in both the fall and spring seasons. If you cannot commit to both seasons, your position on a travel team may be restricted depending on the number of players trying out for that age group. Also, in most cases preference will be given to Madison/"Harding" residents unless out of town players are needed to fill out a team's roster. Exception is made to non-Madison/Harding players already on a travel team roster.
